Greetings from the
Publisher & Editor

Greetings Readers!
I want to dedicate this edition to all individuals who are making big
or small changes, inner and/or external changes that help you, me &
the planet!
“In order to change an existing paradigm you do not struggle to try and change
the problematic model. You create a new momdel and make the old one obsolute.”
~Buckminster Fuller
INCLUDING YOU!
This has been an exciting year! Since we became a nonprofit in Nov 06’,”The
Guide” has been in a whirlwind of activity. I love meeting people and having
a conversation, where all enter with open minds in a dialogue – and when the
dialogue is over, we all leave enriched. You will meet some of the interesting
people Steve, our editor and I have met, in this issue. Make sure you also read
the articles from our featured nonprofits, consider donating or volunteering.
The Guides’ mission is to be an inner and outer guide that is supportive to both
our local and global communities.
Do save and use our directory throughour the year, and please recycle or share!
The Guide is also available as an E- Magazine! We are also an Interactive
Website, where readers are invited to join and interact with our writers, write
or share an article blog, and dialogue with other readers. As we continue our
mission as a nonprofit publication, we will now be printing once a year. It is
an intense “ Labor of Love”, that requires a great commitment in volunteered
time, by all of us.
This magazine heralds four truths of ours:
1. Respect: Yourself, Others, & The Planet.
2. Honor: Yourself, Others, & The Planet.
3. Allow: Yourself to see through the different colored glasses of others. With
Others; be open to their truths, and their visons. Allow all the mystery of life
on the planet --we live ony to have it reveal itself through science, spiritual
awareness, ecology, technology, and intuition/inner knowing.
4. Demonstrate: thoughts and actions daily. Practice kindness and your
“individual” truth with yourself, strangers, family, friends, and this planet.
Demonstrating can involve: volunteering for a great cause, becoming informed

about choices in health care, lifestyles, sustainable green choices, and it could
be standing up for what you feel is a worthy cause. Life is full of paradoxs and
opportunites to stay balanced. Know you are not perfect, just do your best!
I invite you to reflect and consider what is true for you. I invite you to be open to
learning possible new ways to self/Self Actualization, and then, most importantly,
integrating your experiences. In this world today, there appears to be fighting, wars,
arguments, misunderstandings all from each individual or group that believe their
way is “THE WAY” and is the “ ONLY WAY”. Peace can NEVER come with
this approach. We are all learning, growing, and becoming.
We are interdependent on each other-- different cultures, different belief systems,
different political and economic systems BUT we all inhabit only ONE PLANETthe
PLANET EARTH!! In the news, and on the science channels on TV., they
speak about Global Warming. The Artic is melting 2x faster than a Decade ago.
The Coral Reefs are our “ Canary in the coal mine”, and the Coral Reefs are dying
rapidly. The fuel we are burning from the era of the Dinosaur- ( The Cretaceous
period) was also the last time this planet had global warming. The planet Earth
can handle this excess carbon dioxde- the “ Greenhouse Effect”-but it may have
to shake off life, as we know it, like a “ bad cold”, as a result. The Question comes
down to this- “If all these earth changes are true, and humans are causing it, can we
become a part of the needed change? Or do we stare in shock, disbelief, and wait for
the inevitable “ Tipping Point”, after which it will simply be too little, too late?
I love this beautiful planet. We do not “ own “ this planet, even though sometimes
we act as if we do. We have responsibilites in living on this planet! If we do not
take our responsibilities seriously then we deserve whatever fate awaits us due to
our indifference. Enjoy the variety of articles in this edition, we would love to hear
from you. Have an excellent adventure! If you have questions about: joining our
interactive website, ads, donations, the magazine, The Miracle Fund, etc... my

Dear Miracle Fund & The Guide to
Health and Healing Magazine,
I am a dental surgeon, qualified at King’s
College School of Dental Surgery, London
and having sold my dental practice in the UK
I am at the moment living in Thailand.
I have had experience working in the
conditions, which you describe on your web
site having volunteered for a total of nine
months at the Angkor Hospital for Children,
Siem Reap, Cambodia where we treat
children not only at the hospital but also in
outlying villages and on the Tonle Sap Lake.
I could go on but in the meantime maybe I
could be of help to the Miracle Fund in some
way or other, somewhere, who knows. I have
good organizational skills, operational skills
and treating children is a delight for me.
I am now going away on a long driving
holiday in Thailand. I would like to introduce
you to a new project. These people have no
nearby access to medical or dental care,
their nearest town where they can receive
treatment is Siem Reap which can be a two
day round trip.If you are interested take a
look at www.lakeclinic.org
Thanks from

Dear Miracle Fund and Steve Smith,
Hello, My wife and I are 55 years old. We
have just retired from private practice in the
US. Would you have any need for a basically
full time dentist? We would plan to live on
a sailboat on the Rio Dulce. If you do not
have this need perhaps you would know
another group we could help. Our Spanish
is limited but we are willing to learn. We
don't know any Mayan. We were missionay
dentists in Barbados, WI right after we
graduated from dental school for 18 months
in the early eighties. I have been on mission
trips to the Amazon. I am used to the best
dental equipment/sterilization and also the
worst. Thank you for your interest. Tom and
Deanna Cable/Dentist
Yes, Thank you Tom and
Deanna! We are excited about
your interest in our project in
Guatemala! Information is on its
way to you! (Editor)
We acknowledge and
appreciate all of whom, lean
a hand here in the States and
around the World! See below!
